The 2013 vintage enjoyed a perfect ripening season.
The hand picked fruit is a Bordeaux-inspired blend of 68% cabernet sauvignon and 32% merlot, seeing 18 months on 43% new French oak. The nose is of ripe blackcurrant, cedar, violets, chocolate, dried and choc mint and charry oak.
The wine has a complex palate, great balance, full and chalky tannins, with creamy vanilla oak and a long finish. Lovely mid-palate juiciness is obtained from the merlot. Drinking superbly at bottling, this fine wine will only improve with good cellaring until at least 2023.
